Gokou — Organic Single-Cultivar Matcha
Grown in the historic tea region of Uji, Kyoto, Japan, our Gokou is an organic, first-harvest single-cultivar matcha sourced from a family tea farm with generations of tea-growing tradition.
Gokou is one of Kyoto’s signature cultivars, particularly prized for producing exceptional matcha and gyokuro. Naturally rich in umami, this cultivar offers a creamy texture, smooth sweetness, deep green color, and elegant aroma, with very little bitterness.
The tea leaves are carefully shade-grown and stone-milled into a fine matcha powder to preserve their vibrant color, aroma, and depth of flavor. Its naturally full-bodied character makes Gokou beautiful when enjoyed traditionally with water, while its pronounced umami and creamy finish also hold up exceptionally well in a matcha latte.
